Doug Riley and his wife Lois have been living a half life since their daughter Emily was killed eight years ago. Doug has coped by having an affair with Vivian, a waitress. Lois has struggled, harbouring a secret and devastating sense of guilt for her daughter’s death. She has withdrawn into herself and hides a away from the outside world…

When Vivian dies, Doug is lost. On a business trip to Baton Rouge he finds himself at a crossroads. And in a strip club. A 16 year old lap dancer Mallory offers him ‘extras’ in a private room. He declines but accompanies her home to her run down apartment and makes his own proposition. Doug rings Lois and tells her he isn’t coming home.

Helpless on her own, Lois, a woman previously unable to make it 20 yards to the mailbox, realises that she will have to take drastic action if she is to save her marriage. For the first time in 8 years, and after a couple of failed attempts, she manages to reach her car and start driving, headed south.

When she finally arrives to find her husband living with a foul-mouthed young hooker, Lois is predictably horrified. But, like Doug before her, she is taken with Mallory’s similarities to Emily. Lois moves in and the three of them form an unusual family unit. But Mallory soon bridles at the attempts to mend her wicked ways. She’s not ready to be anyone’s surrogate daughter just yet. Sparks fly. Mallory isn’t about to complete the pretty picture just yet. She’s a teenager after all….

MTV reported that the Twilight release has been moved from December 12th to November 21st!  Twilight is taking up Harry Potter’s vacated release date

High school sucks. Many movies have tackled this topic. But most of them don’t mean it quite so literally.

In certain ways, Twilight is a very typical teenage love story: Bella, an awkward, clumsy seventeen-year-old, meets the handsomest boy in school, Edward. Bella finds herself drawn to Edward’s mysteriousness, and Edward is intrigued by her intelligence and intuition. Before either of them realizes what’s happening, they fall in love. But one thing does keep this film from becoming too She’s All That: Edward is a “vegetarian” vampire, one who does not drink human blood. Unfortunately for Bella, her blood is sweet-smelling enough to tempt Edward to fall off the wagon.

Sorry for the lack of updates in the past week - I was in the Bahamas, on a cruise!  It was tons of fun, and I got incredibly sunburnt and it really  hurts to move right now.

I know all you Twilight fans got Breaking Dawn on its August 1st release - I couldn’t get it on August 1st, but I have it now and I’m about 100 pages in Eclipse right now.  Don’t post any spoilers please, for mine & others’ sakes! ;)  However, Breaking Dawn sold 1.3 MILLION copies in just ONE day!  That’s great!
